Work with Me

As a licensed therapist, I specialize in working with folks who are looking to process through trauma, depression and anxiety in various stages of their lives. Oftentimes, my clients have experienced significant dysfunction in their family of origin and continue to wrestle with the consequences of that in their present life. I also find that many of my clients are processing single event trauma. Or, my clients are looking for resources and support as they process what is called little “t” trauma, meaning events that are difficult or disturbing but don’t meet the criteria for full PTSD.

I also work frequently with folks struggling with grief, transitions, boundaries, relational issues, and knowing how to integrate faith with their experience.

I employ a warm, empathic, and eclectic approach with my clients. Additionally, I seek to tap into my clients’ natural strengths while equipping them for change.

I believe that a relationship with God is an essential piece to living a fulfilled life; however, I respect where each person is in their beliefs and allow clients to decide whether they would like counseling to be faith-based.

While change can be scary and at times difficult, I believe it is very possible. Please know that you are not alone in your process of change.

I received my Master’s in Counseling from Denver Seminary and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I bring varied experiences in multiple clinical settings including schools, universities, nursing homes, and private practice that allow me to assist you in this journey.

Please note: I am not currently accepting clients. If you are looking for additional referrals please go to emdria.org or psychologytoday.com.

I realize I’m breaking the rules of instagram by p I realize I’m breaking the rules of instagram by posting two selfies in a row, but today is my 43rd birthday so I’m gonna just do the thing. ✌🏻 I’ll say this, it was a hell of a year. I feel proud and grateful, and also, more than a little tired. Waking up to news of wars, widespread sexual abuse cover ups, and the weaponization of a faith I hold dear will do that to anyone paying attention. But also, something I’ve learned as a long term survivor of cPTSD, is how much it matters to hold onto my center; my God-given self. I’ve learned that abuse teaches us to leave ourselves, and we often do, just so we can survive. Which is why it is some of the most sacred work of my life to, by the grace of God, choose to stay instead.
.
And so that is how I’m entering this year: tenaciously committed to the life + self God has given me, to the people around me, to the work that is a privilege to do. To, as the prophet Micah once wrote, “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
.
Thanks to each of you who have been here, who have supported my work, who have spoken life into me. I do not take it lightly. Grateful. xx

I cannot wait to share about this book with you in the coming year, but what I can say—is something I used to tell myself when I played a whole lot of basketball: “I’m leaving it all on the floor.” Whew. Happy Friday, my dears. (And now to rest)🫶🏻
